![]() With numerous achievements and his modesty, Karl Norris proves this statement to be very true. Born May 23, 1921 on a small farm in the little town of Olanta who would have ever thought that he would accomplish so many great things in his lifetime. Karl Norris is a 1938 graduate from Curwensville Area High School where he was in the top of his class. After graduating he went on to further his education by attending Penn State University, from where he graduated in 1942 with a bachelors degree in Agricultural Engineering. ... In September 1997, at the International Conference on Near Infrared Spectroscopy in Essen, Germany, he was named the First Fellow of Near Infrared Spectroscopy. He was named for this hone in recognition of his lifetime achievements. Karl Norris is now living in Beltsville and is still active in the community. Karl Norris is a great man not only because of his many achievements, but also because of the humility and generosity that he shows.
